He said to
his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the laborers are few. (Mt
9:37)
Although the
apostle Paul encourages God's servants to take part in the work of pastoral
ministry from position (I Tim. 3:1), nowadays, in most cases it is obvious what
is the ministry outcast. The current economic socio-Satan whose architecture
has much to do-determined values of social status weigh much when parents
decide what course they should take their children professional.
I'm a father
too, and of course I want the best for my children. Not only does he want, but
this in a biblical responsibility to guide them in life to do as well as
possible (II Cor 12:14). But, if I want to act as a committed Christian, one of
the first options you should put forward the way of my children is the ministry
in all its areas.
I'm not
suggesting that all our guys should end up being pastors, teachers,
evangelists, musicians, singers, etc, rather I am suggesting that many of them
might be, but have moved away from that purpose encarrilándolos systematically
along the path, consider humanly was more economically beneficial for them, as
if economic factors were the only, or most important in the happiness and
welfare of our children.
The usual
reason for rejecting the ministry is that the economic outlook and the
potential conflicts that are projected in these conflicts are many and proven.
This argument can not be dismissed simply spiritualizing, for indeed, it is
right and legitimate expectation which aim to eat every day at certain hours,
and nutritionally, a roof to live, a wife and children who, in turn, require education
, clothing, recreation, medicine etc.
You should
then have a balance, handling viable and responsible as possible for our claim
that believers mentality change regarding the ministry. Because it has been
clear that the mere exposure of the glories of the ministry as well as the
divine mandate to be part of this not been sufficiently persuasive to a rule
that believers seek to engage their children in ministry. It is then clear that
the ministers of the Lord called to establish a solid foundation of Christian
education and biblical training of the servants of God, we face a challenge
that demands an open mind, wisdom and creativity.
Our proposal
to balance this situation is a Bible college education combining pastoral
ministry with technical and vocational training, only in those areas that are
demanded by society, but at the same time, represent a profession that allows
graduates own their time.
But this
scheme, that nothing is new, requires a dramatic reengineering of the
administrative structure and curriculum, infrastructure, teachers and the average
duration of the study program. It's challenging, but not impossible, Catholic
polytechnics have been doing so for decades with remarkable results.
This is not a
task you can do alone, but require the help of everyone who in one way or
another be aware that we can change the current scheme of theological training,
static, and disconnected from the surrounding world by a dynamic model,
integrated and alive. Therefore, if you have recently been meditating in some
decent work, to give yourself to join or where you want to donate resources, we
propose our own. The great benefit of contributing to a project like this is
that it is a social investment with a guaranteed return, "immediate"
and that if it does not benefit you directly, it will indirectly through her children, grandchildren, family, friends and
acquaintances to whom you want to route.
Help us to
realize this project so that there is a remarkable transformation in
educational enrollment regarding ministerial theological training, so that we
have pastors who live for ministry and not afraid of a life of deprivation
"because the ministry" we contribute to restoring honor and
brightness to the most honorable activity that you can see and we contribute a
beacon of hope and an environment for our Christian youth.
